About the OKC Jazz Fest

The first festival took place in 2014 to recognize Oklahoma City’s jazz history, heritage and culture. The week-long music festival features jazz, the blues and other different genres of music to appeal to a wide audience. The OKC Jazz Fest showcases local, regional and national artists at various venues in the Oklahoma City area.  The event has feature such artists as David Benoit, Al Jarreau, The Gap Band, Color Me Bad and Lucine Fyelon.

The 2020 festival will recognize and celebrate the “Spirit of Jazz 25th Anniversary.”  The “Spirit of Jazz” took place July 1, 1995 to benefit the victim’s families of the Murrah Federal Building bombing.  A group of well-known national jazz musicians came to Oklahoma City to perform at the benefit concert at the Zoo Amphitheater.  These musicians will be invited back to be recognized and to perform along with other musicians as the OKC Jazz Fest pays tribute to the “Spirit of Jazz.”  The tribute show will benefit the Oklahoma City National Memorial.

The lineup of performers, schedule of events and ticket information will be announce in coming weeks.  Major sponsors of the festival have included the Chickasaw Nation, Riverwind Casino, SSM Health St. Anthony, OU Medicine, MindsEye! Advertising and OG&E.  For sponsorship information contact Mike McAuliffe at 405-630-7668.
